About the paintings:
My paintings and sculptures are consistently concerned with archetypes, with the creation of an expanding environmental space, and in the recent multiple canvases, the articulation of space in a way similar to the frames of a film.
I also welcome the discovery of unconscious content, so that each work is an
exploration of inner life that may not be apparent in the beginning. In the
last five years my painting process has become more related to play, dance, and
music. In addition, community collaborative projects in tile and mosaic have
spilled over into composition, and kilims have influenced pattern.
